About 70 students spent the night at UC Davis' Mrak Hall as they continue their 'occupation' into Wednesday.

The students said they have a variety of reasons for the occupation. They all agree they are defending public education.
UC Davis Students Protest Budget Cuts, Fee Hikes
Many of the students say they are speaking out against what they call "police brutality" in response to last week's protests at UC Berkeley. The students say they plan to continue the occupation.
